College Application Smart Start: Move from Stuck to Started

$625.00

Are you eager for your student to start on their college applications? Do you want an expert guide to lead them through the key aspects of creating their college application, developing their primary college essay, and evaluating risk and opportunity in their proposed college list?

This three-session live Zoom course is for rising high school seniors and is held on consecutive Sundays. During the three weeks, students will:

·       Understand the factors that admissions offices use to evaluate college applications.

·       Identify personal qualities that they want admissions offices to know about them beyond what appears in their transcript, test scores & activity record.

·       Create an Activity Profile that highlights high school awards, extracurricular activities, and leadership positions that will be used in applications, resumes, and, if needed, interviews.

·       Complete the non-essay portions of the Common Application.

·       Complete one draft of their personal statement/primary essay for the Common Application.

·       Understand how to evaluate risk and opportunity in their proposed college list.

The course meets on Sunday evenings:

·       9/7 – 7- 8:30 p.m. Eastern

·       9/14 – 7- 8:30 p.m. Eastern

·       9/21 – 7- 8:30 p.m. Eastern

Because of the interactive nature of the course, the sessions will not be recorded, so it is essential that your student attend each session. The workshop fee is non-refundable given the extremely limited availability. If the workshop does not meet the five-student requirement to run, your fee will be fully refunded.

Should you and your student desire additional support following the experience, individualized consulting may be available to support list development or application development.

Your student will be guided by Amy McVeigh & Susie Parsons.
